At the age of 2 years 11 months Charles is recorded in the US National Census 1920 with his parents living at 42 Broadway, Jersey City, New Jersey.
United States Federal Census of 1930, shows 12 year old Charles living with his now widowed mother at her parent's address in Jersey City.
Grace later married Joseph VENTO. Grace and Joseph are buried at Staten Island.
Charles M. who had no siblings became a career soldier.
He enlisted in the US Army on 19th August 1941 at Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, New York. Three months before Pearl Harbour.
His initial enlistment, Private 1st Class 06909917,was for three years.
He continued in the service of his country for 30years through World War II, Korea, and as a Sergeant Major in Vietnam.
Charles married Margaret Leona Conrad, born 15 July 1918 the daughter of Capt. Hiram O. CONRAD of Nova Scotia and Massachusetts.
Charles's death is
recorded in the US Social Security Index as 31 August 1989 New York.
